Yes, I made it through....

LOL...I did not mean to depress all of you with my last blog. I guess you can tell that I was feeling pretty sad but I did not mean for it to be infectious!

I have been working very hard all day to catch up on my editing. I have good news for all of those waiting on proofs...you should be looking at receiving your proofs within a week of when they were photographed. Yippee!!!

On Saturday, Books A Million is having a big sale! I LOVE that place. I am going to go and get another book on fairies for inspiration for my fairy photos. I am working on a book, "Captured Fairies" and need some more photos.

BIG NEWS! I was able to get a booth at the Wilson County Fair this August! All of you will have to come and see me! I will be in tent 2 across from the pavilion where they have the pageants and talent shows. I don't do heat well so all of you need to come by and entertain me so I don't think about how I am surely going to melt.
I grew up on a street in Madison called Kemper Dr. There were a bunch of kids my age and we all hung around and grew up together. We called ourselves the Kemper Heights Gang. We spent our summers playing, "Hide and Seek" and "Ain't No Ghosts Out Tonight". We ran wild and had the best fun ever. Together we terrorized the neighbors with toilet paper and Ding Dong Ditching. The photo above is the granddaughter of one of my Kemper buddies. HAH! He is a grandfather before anyone else! I can't wait to be a grandmother (Chelsey, if you are reading this - I CAN wait).
Well, that is it for now!! Have a great weekend!

Another Comment on Time....

I know I am being redundant but back to the time thing......

Today is my first born son's 17th birthday! SEVENTEEN!! I remember when I went into labor with him. The wait seemed to take forever. I remember thinking that he was never going to get here but get here he did and now it has been seventeen years. Morris and I were recently married and just starting out our lives. Alex was born into such love and full of promise. He was a small bald headed baby with big brown eyes and a dimpled chin. Now he is a big strong young man who needs a haircut and a shave with the same expressive brown eyes and dimpled chin. Seventeen years ago I held and marveled at his tiny little hands and now those hands are shooting hockey pucks and playing basketball and instead of my hand he is now holding his girlfriend's hand. I wonder when is the last time I held that precious hand when we were walking down the road or crossing that parking lot. I wish I had known that moment was the last time. I would have held it a little longer and given it a kiss before letting it go. Ahhhh...letting go....that is the difficult part, isn't it?

Well, before I start crying again I am going to go get the young ones to take to the movie. The birthday boy is out with his girlfriend celebrating. Apparently I am no longer needed for the celebrations. I will tell you one thing....on my way into the movies, when we cross through the parking lot, I am going to grab my little one's hand and I am going to hang on just a little bit longer,

PS...here is a photo from a shoot I had today...What about those eyes???!!! Pretty soon he will be seventeen and not needing his mommy to celebrate his birthday....oh, here I go crying again....

Hello again!

I know you are all sick of hearing me whine about time but I mean, really! Where the heck does it go??? I can not seem to catch my breath! And now I have to hurry and finish this so I can go watch, "So You Think You Can Dance". By the way, in case you were wondering, I definitely do NOT think that I can dance!

Just wanted to let you know that I managed to catch another fairy. Seems they are running around everywhere this time of year. I am also posting another photo from a previous shoot because the more I look at it the more I like it so I thought you may like it too!

Next weekend I am supposed to be going camping......shouldn't be over one hundred degrees! I am sure it will be fun?
Talk to you soon!

HI!

What a lazy Sunday! I am supposed to be organizing the studio and catching up on my work but I am feeling very lazy and can't seem to get around to doing anything!

I have done several photo shoots lately and I need to post some here but I am feeling too lazy to even do that! I am posting one of Miss Belle. This is one from her nine month old session. This job makes time fly even faster! Everytime Belle's mom calls me I am shocked that it is time for another session. I also took photos of her brother, Reid, for his three year old photos. Has it really been a whole year?????

This photo shows Belle wearing her Grandmother's slip dress and a hat I had here at the studio. Isn't she sweet??

I am gearing up to start my senior campaign..so be watching out for news of that! If you have a senior I will be offering photos, composites, invitations and thank you notes.

Have a great Sunday! I guess I need to go and get some work done.....or take a nap!

Hi Again!
Those of you who keep up with my blog know that I am involved with the NILMDTS (Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep) Foundation. This is a foundation where professional photographers volunteer their time and resources to families who are dealing with infant bereavement. When we are contacted we go to the hospital and do a photo session with the baby and the family. There is no charge and we provide a CD of fully edited photos that the family can have printed.
This past week I had my first session as a volunteer and I am truly humbled by the experience. I met baby I. when I was called by the hospital at her mother's request. She was a beautiful little angel who left this world too soon. I will never forget her nor the experience that I had meeting her and her family.
If you are a photographer and would like to be involved, please contact the foundation at www.NILMDTS.org. If you are someone who has dealt with infant bereavement personally, our website has so much support and help that you are certain to have some of your sorrow lifted.
If you are interested in making a donation to the foundation you may do that through the website as well.
Please pray for the family of I. to receive peace and comfort. While baby I. is free from the pains of this world her family is left stricken and grieving. I pray that the Lord blesses them and keeps him, lifts His countenance upon them and brings them peace.

Hey again! Captured another fairy and thought I would share her! Isn't she adorable? The other photo posted is of her also. I photographed her and her two brothers (third photo) this past weekend. It is a surprise for their Dad for Father's Day! Need photos for Father's Day? You had better make an appointment fast!

We have a WINNER....or two.....

Congratulations to Stacy Berry for sending the winning letter in our Memorial Day Contest. She has won a complete photo package! I am honored to be giving her family this package and want to thank her family and all families who are having to make sacrifices to keep us safe at home.

We have another winner too!! As you know I have been taking photos of my friend's daughter, Kamillia for her upcoming beauty pageant. The pageant was held this past weekend and this little girl won the following: 1st Place - Photogenic (with the photo I am showing here), 1st Place - Composite (also shown here), 1st Runner Up - Portfolio, 1st Place - Swimsuit, 2nd Runner Up - Casual Wear, 1st Place - Formal, 1st Place - Model Search, 1st Place - Talent, Interview - 1st Place, Queen Supreme Over All (ages 3-4) and best of all she won a $1000 savings bond for having the top score in the whole pageant!! Not bad for her second pageant! Those of you who know me know that I have never been a big fan of beauty pageants but I must admit it was very exciting watching her get crown after crown. There were thirty-five other 3-4 year olds competing for the same titles. You can also see her swimsuit in an earlier post.

I know I have been neglecting my blog and I am truly sorry. Things have gotten busy around here with the business and the conclusion of the school year. Thank you for your patience and I will be posting more this week! I promise! No, really, I will! I really, really will!
